I'd be pissed about the fire thing too. Mandate high efficiency devices that output a small amount of particulate instead of outright banning it. There are multiple houses on my street that use wood and only wood for heat. New wood burning stoves and inserts emit 3 grams of particulate an hour and are a lot less harmful than something like our old oil furnace where we burn 1000+ gallons a winter. After having cleaned it from a season of burning, the sulphur output has to be worse than what comes out of a new wood stove.
